Dr. Kevin Lu was born and raised in Southern California. At 17 he made the decision to become a dentist, and after attending college at UC Irvine that dream became a reality. He attended dental school at UCLA, where Drs. Cheng, Garcia, Huynh and Strandburg were his classmates. Practicing dentistry with his friends was an opportunity too good to pass up, and Dr. Lu joined Vision Dental in 2021. When he isn't at Vision Dental, Dr. Lu practices with his father in Rowland Heights.
Dr. Lu enjoys the variety and complex problem solving required in general dentistry. His favorite procedures involve triaging and stabilizing emergencies. He performs extractions, root canal therapies, fillings, crowns/bridges/onlays, implant restorations, cosmetic cases, periodontal procedures, dentures, and appliance therapies to treat a wide array of needs. He believes that his primary job as a dentist is to share his experience and knowledge with his patients in easy and approachable terms, so they can always make the best informed decisions to meet their individual needs.
When he isn't at work, Dr. Lu skis 20-40 days a year, hikes and backpacks all over the Sierras, enjoys landscape photography, and aquascapes freshwater fish tanks. He is married with two small children, and loves to bring his family wherever he goes.
Our 3-year-old daughter had some complex dental issues, and we checked out other pediatric dentists before finally finding Dr. Andrew at Vision Dental. From the start, he made us feel more comfortable than ever, as he explained my daughter’s situation thoroughly and reviewed our options. When it came time for her procedures, he was very gentle and kept our daughter (and us) calm. He takes a conservative approach and treats only what is necessary, which is what we were looking for. Before my daughter was fearful of the dentist, but now she can’t wait to visit Dr. Andrew and his team!
